UK Airshow Calendar 2025

There was an RAF Puma Farewell Flight On the 26th & 27th March 2025 with 3 Puma helicopters performing flypasts over sites in the UK, that have been associated with the RAF Puma. Read more here.

The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) took part in many displays at Air Shows as well as performing a great deal of flypasts this year with their Lancaster, Spitfires and Hurricanes. Their Dakota spent much of the season at IWM Duxford undergoing maintenance, returning to RAF Coningsby at the end of August. The BBMF Lancaster will undergo an in-depth maintenance procedure at the end of the 2025 season which means it will not be available during 2026, however the BBMF Dakota will take its place.

The Red Arrows also took part in many UK Air shows from May to October 2025, as well as flypasts, in their nine Hawk T1 aircraft. They took part in the VE Day 80 Flypast over Buckingham Palace as well as a VJ Flypast over the National Memorial Arboretum which was televised and attended by the King in August 2025.

The 80th anniversary of VE Day (Victory in Europe Day) included a flypast of 23 aircraft over Buckingham Palace on Monday 5th May 2025, with a rehearsal on Monday 28th April. Read more here.

The King's Birthday Flypast took place on 14th June 2025 with 29 aircraft flying over Buckingham Palace. The rehearsal took place on the 4th June 2025. Read more here.

Abingdon Air & Country Show had a smaller Air Display program this year, but as it took place on 14th June 2025, they were able to include a flypast by elements of the Kings Birthday Flypast.

The RAF Cosford Air Show, now the only Royal Air Force Air Show, took place in June 2025. Despite some cancellations including the French Rafale, Army Air Corps AH-64E Apache x2 & Wildcat Role Demo, it was a good air display with the Polish Air Force F-16 Tiger Solo Demo Team, Royal Netherlands Air Force A330 MRTT Flypast, Swiss Air Force’s PC-7 Team and the excellent display of the Extra 330 flown by Melanie Astles. The display also featured the Red Arrows, RAF Typhoon, F-35B Lightning etc. The static display included the AAC AH-64E Apache as well as the BAe EAP alongside the Eurofighter Typhoon DA4.

The Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) took place at RAF Fairford in July 2025. The main theme was 'Eyes in the Skies' which includes aerial surveying, airborne early warning, maritime patrol, search and rescue, reconnaissance, signals intelligence and surveillance. Major display teams at the show were the Red Arrows, Frecce Tricolori and Royal Jordanian Falcons. Fighter aircraft in the flying display included the Italian Typhoon, Finnish F/A-18C Hornet, Polish F-16C Fighting Falcon, Danish F-16AM Fighting Falcon, SAAB's JAS-39E Gripen and Spanish Eurofighter C.16 Tifon. Notable displays were the Army Air Corps AH-64E Apache x2 & Wildcat Role Demo, Czech Air Force PZL-Swidnik W-3A Sokols, Swedish Air Force Sikorsky Hkp.16 (UH-60M) Blackhawk demonstration, French Navy's Dassault-Breguet Atlantique ATL2 as well as a flypasts by the RAF Poseidon MRA.1 and the new RAF E-7A Wedgetail AEW1. There was also a full flying demonstration by the United States Air Force Lockheed U-2S. Interesting static aircraft were Egyptian Air Force Antonov An-74T Coaler, Pakistan Air Force Ilyushin IL-78 Midas & 2x PAC JF-17C Thunder, Qatar Emiri Air Force aircraft, Finnish MD-500E Defender, Hungarian airbus helicopters h225m, USAF C-5M Super Galaxy and Slovenian Armed Forces aircraft. Despite quite a few cancellations this year including a flying display of the USAF Rockwell B-1B Lancer, which was a disappointment to many, and a sparse static display, there was still plenty to see and do at RIAT 2025.

RIAT 2026 will have a few changes as the Green Route has been repurposed as a dedicated Park & Ride route, and to support the new Park & Ride facility, they are introducing a daily parking fee of £15 for those who choose to drive to and park at the Royal International Air Tattoo. There will also be an Official RIAT Campsite, located on what was once the Green Car Park.

The Manston International Airshow was due to take place on 16th and 17th August 2025 but it was later announced that they had taken the difficult decision to postpone the event until the 6th and 7th June 2026.

The Bournemouth Air Festival did not take place in 2025 as the Council is no longer funding it because of budgetary pressures. It was hoped that a private air show operator would come in and run the show for 2026 but it remains to be seen if this will happen.

President Trump's second State Visit included a flypast over Windsor Castle on Wednesday 17th September 2025. It was to include the Red Arrows as well as F-35 Lightning aircraft, however due to poor weather, the flypast consisted of the Red Arrows only. Read more here.
