Current Airshow Calendar

Due to a new runway rebuild at RAF Waddington it was understood that the International Air Show would not take place in 2015, however it was announced in 2015 that the RAF Waddington International Air Show would not return at all due to "significant security concerns and operational risks". The Royal Air Force has said an extensive survey of alternative sites in the East of England has been carried out and it has decided that it would be possible to hold an air show at RAF Scampton but not until 2017 at the earliest. This meant that the RAF Cosford Air Show was the only Royal Air Force air show taking place in 2015.

The Royal International Air Tattoo 2015 included the USAF Bell Boeing CV-22B Osprey, RAF Typhoon and Spitfire synchro pair, Hellenic Air Force F-16C (Team Zeus), Ramex Delta - two French Mirage 2000N, the Polish MiG-29, and Tornados representing the Tri-National Tornado Training Establishment. There was a new RAF Hawk T2 Role Demo and a moving Battle of Britain 75th Anniversary Tribute which included many Spitfires, Hurricanes, the Bristol Blenheim IF, and a Messerschmitt Bf 109G-4. The Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) Kawasaki P-1 also took part in the flying display, and this was the first time that a Japanese military aircraft had taken part in the flying display at a UK air show.

2015 was the last year for Vulcan XH558 to display before its retirement to the heritage hangar at Robin Hood Airport near Doncaster. The Vulcan was displayed at many events in 2015 as well as special tours so that as many people as possible, around the country, could see this amazing aircraft one last time. The Vulcan drew many people to all the events that it took part in during 2015.

It was announced that this was the end of the Southend Airshow and that it would not be returning. The SKYLIVE Airshow at Durham Tees Valley Airport that was to take place on 29th August was postponed until 2016 due to restrictions imposed by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), after the crash at Shoreham Airshow would have "seriously limited" some of the flying displays.

This year saw the awful tragedy when a Hawker Hunter crashed during the Shoreham Air Show, at the end of August. This led to the CAA announcing restrictions to UK Air Shows.
