This is a list of UK Airshow Calendars from previous years, and may be useful to find out when a particular airshow was held.

Current Airshow Calendar

The Red Arrows went on a five-week overseas Tour (Maple Hawk) to Canada, from mid-August, to help mark the centennial of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). This meant that some UK events moved their air displays to an earlier date so that they could book the Red Arrows before they departed to Canada such as the Guernsey Air Display and Southport Airshow etc.

It was the Red Arrows 60th Anniversary in 2024, they displayed with nine Hawk T1 aircraft which included special artwork on the side and tailfin of each aircraft for their Diamond Season.

Bournemouth Air Festival went ahead in 2024, but for 3 days, instead of the usual 4 days, at the end of August. Unfortunately the Red Arrows could not display as they were on their Canada Tour. Bournemouth Air Festival 2024 is the last year of a council funded air show and looking forward, the council is now inviting expressions of interest from operators to manage and deliver this event in its entirety in the future. It is possible that a new operator could pause the show in 2025 and then have it return from 2026 onwards.

The Eastbourne Airshow went ahead in 2024 over four days in August. The Red Arrows displayed on the first day only of the show before going on their Canada Tour.

The Folkestone Air Display did not take place in 2024 however there was a Folkestone Armed Forces & Community Fun Day at the end of June 2024. The Sidmouth Regatta went ahead but did not include an airshow in 2024 because the Red Arrows were not available and reduced external financial support. Flying Legends did not go ahead in 2024 but they will explore their options in the future.

Abingdon Air & Country Show 2024, which was planned to go ahead on the 18th May 2024, was postponed until the 21st September 2024 due to an ongoing Ministry of Defence 'correspondance' that could not be resolved in time. Looking ahead to 2025, the Abingdon Air & Country Show announced that there will not be any air displays but there will instead be several flypasts, which will hopefully include the Red Arrows and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. It is also hoped that the show will include Royal Air Force transport & helicopter types to land & be open to the public. It was later announced that there will now be a small air display in 2025.

The BBMF Spitfire IX (MK356) piloted by Sqn Ldr Mark Long was involved in a fatal crash at RAF Coningsby at the end of May 2024. This resulted in all the BBMF fighters with Merlin engines being grounded for the rest of the season while a formal investigation went ahead.

On the 29th July 2024, the BBMF Lancaster took to the skies after completing extensive maintenance and achieved Public Display Authority (PDA) on 6th August 2024, going on to display at several airshows and perform plenty of flypasts.

BBMF Spitfire PR.XIX (PM631) took to the air after extensive maintenance and a detailed safety assessment on the 3rd October 2024. PM631 is powered by the Griffon engine.

In December 2023, it was announced that Sywell Aerodrome and Ultimate Warbird Flights would be hosting a 'Sywell 2024 Airshow Weekend', in June 2024, showcasing multiple classic aircraft from across Europe alongside modern jets which proved very popular with enthuiasts.

D-DAY80 (80th Anniversary of D-Day) involved many DC-3 Dakotas including the D-Day Squadron who flew their aircraft across the Atlantic to the UK and on to France. There were several events in the UK which included these aircraft at North Weald, Duxford (with massed parachute jump) and Portsmouth.

The UK F-35B Lightning performed a Role Demo for the first time at a few events including RAF Cosford Air Show, RIAT, Old Buckenham Air Show and the Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show. The RAF Chinook also performed a Role Demo at a few shows including the RAF Cosford Air Show, RIAT and Farnborough Airshow.

The Royal Navy Black Cats displayed with one or two Wildcat helicopters at several events and the 2024 RAF Typhoon Display Aircraft had a new paint scheme to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of D-Day.

RIAT 2024's themes were '50 years of the F-16 Fighting Falcon' and '75 years of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO). RIAT and the Farnborough Airshow both included the Qatar Emiri Air Force Boeing F-15QA Ababil in the flying display. A couple of Lockheed U2 aircraft took part in the static & flying display at RIAT, with the flying display taking place on Friday only, where it was launched, flew several circuits, making low approaches, before being recovered. RAF Cosford Airshow 2024 included a display by the Couteau Delta Mirage 2000D Display Pair.

The Army Air Corps (AAC) were in the process of transitioning from their original AAC Apache AH1 to the new AAC Apache AH-64E helicopter and on the 25th March 2024, several of the older Apache AH1 helicopters made a farewell flypast around the country.

The Royal Air Force's first Wedgetail E7 AEW Mk1 aircraft made its maiden test flight from Birmingham Airport on 20th September 2024 and on the 1st October 2024 flew from Birmingham Airport to Southend Airport to be painted before returning back to Birmingham Airport.
