Current Airshow Calendar

The Mildenhall Air Fete in 2002 which was to be held on 25-26 May 2002 was cancelled due to operational requirements. The popular air show at this American base would never return.

The RNAS Yeovilton International Air Day 2002 air show was postponed from 13th July until the 21st September. Reasons for the postponement included the airshow congestion in July (There were many major airshows in July), and the weather.

The Royal International Air Tattoo returned to RAF Fairford in 2002 after being held at RAF Cottesmore for the last two years due to runway resurfacing work at Fairford. After the awful terrorist attacks against the USA on September 11, 2001, security was increased at many events including the Royal International Air Tattoo which said that the majority of visitors to the event will have to park in fields outside the RAF Fairford base and enter on foot. They would then have to enter the Showground through a series of perimeter fence booths manned by admissions staff who will check tickets and visitors will have to go through a security check of their belongings.
