Following an incident, RAF temporarily pause Hawk T1 and Hawk T2 operations (23.9.26)

Following an incident involving an RAF Hawk T2 aircraft today, both pilots are receiving medical treatment. Their families are being supported.
The RAF has decided to temporarily pause Hawk T1 and Hawk T2 operations, as a precautionary measure, whilst investigations are ongoing.
This will also impact the Red Arrows as they fly the Hawk T1 aircraft.

Both pilots are doing well, they are in extremely good spirits and expected to make a full recovery.
A formal investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is now underway and as a precautionary measure, the RAF has temporarily paused Hawk T1 and Hawk T2 flying operations.

Following detailed analysis and a series of precautionary inspections, Hawk T1 has returned to flying.
All the necessary safety checks have been completed and the aircraft is now operation as planned.

The Red Arrows were cleared to display for the RAF Coningsby BBMF Members Day and RAF Waddington Families Day on the 26th September 2026.
