The Lord Mayor's Show

The Lord Mayor's Show will take place on Saturday 12 November 2022.

The Lord Mayor's Show dates back to the early 13th century, when King John rashly allowed the City of London to appoint its own Mayor. The King insisted that each newly-elected Mayor should come to Westminster and swear loyalty to the Crown, and the Mayor of London has been making that journey for over 800 years. Around him (and her) grew up the noisy, colourful, joyous procession that over the centuries became known as the Lord Mayor's Show. The 694th Lord Mayor of London will be Alderman Nicholas Lyons of the Tower Ward.

Three miles of ancient pageantry and modern spectacle will fill the City of London on 12 November 2022. The bands of the Scots Guards and Welsh Guards will lead off from Mansion House after a flypast at 11am, and the last floats will return at about 2:15pm.

The Lord Mayor's Show Flypast

The Flypast will consist of two large aircraft, a C-17 Globemaster III (ZZ177) & C-130 Hercules (ZH872), from RAF Brize Norton, which will fly over Mansion House, which is the official residence of the Lord Mayor of London, at 11am, on Saturday 12 November 2022.
