RNAS Culdrose Air Day - Press Release

Culdrose Air Day 2014 – Pleasure flights available to visitors

As well as experiencing a thrilling four hour air display, visitors to this year’s RNAS Culdrose Air Day will also be able to take to the skies themselves and see a bird’s eye view of the Lizard. This year visitors will be able to purchase pleasure flights in both a fixed wing aircraft and a helicopter. Flights will commence at 9am and continue until the Air Show closes. The helicopter flights are being run by Adventure 001 and Newquay based Classic Air Force will be running pleasure flights in one of their aircraft – the Rapide GAIDL known as “Nettie”. For more information, please visit their websites: www.classicairforce.com and www.adventure001.com.

Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose’s Air Day 2014 will be held on Thursday 31st July, and it promises to fill the skies of Cornwall with magnificent sights and sounds from across the world of aviation, both past and present. Commander Peter Munro-Lott, Commander Air at Culdrose said: “The highlight of the show this year will be the return of the mighty Vulcan, which will fill the skies with its massive delta wing and thunderous noise as it is deftly handled by its expert crew. We also have a variety of historic jets and aerobatic display teams, all competing to woo the crowds with their dazzling displays and death-defying manoeuvres.”

The attendance list will no keep changing right up to the day itself – keep watching the website for updates – www.culdroseairday.com.
