The RAF Cosford Air Show has announced the first details of aircraft for this year’s event on Sun 8 Jun. As expected the Royal Air Force will be headlining the show with their world famous aerobatic team, the Red Arrows. The Red Arrows will be celebrating their 50th Anniversary in 2014 and the Cosford Air Show will be one of the first opportunities to see their exciting new paint scheme.
Other displays confirmed include the thrilling high speed display from the Typhoon and the beautiful Hurricane, Spitfire and Dakota of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. This year is the 100th Anniversary of the start of World War 1 and a selection of historic aircraft from the Great War Team will pay tribute to all those involved. As part of the recognition of the anniversary, the RAF Tucano display aircraft will provide a poignant reminder of all those who paid the ultimate sacrifice with a new livery of Poppies and the words “LEST WE FORGET”.
Air Show spokesman Amanda Butcher said “We have almost a full line up of RAF display aircraft this year. As well as the Red Arrows, the BBMF, the Typhoon and Tucano displays we will see a Search and Rescue demonstration from a Sea King helicopter, and as has become tradition, the RAF Falcons parachute display team will drop in to open the show. We are still waiting to hear about other military aircraft including more helicopters and international visitors and will be updating our website as aircraft are confirmed.”
All profits made from the RAF Cosford Air Show are donated to local and Service charities.
