U.S.O. Air display Hanger dance at U.S.A.A.F. Station 419 Woodchurch Kent TN26 3QY 15/08/09

Where you will encounter a unique view of 1944 wartime England at an original  U.S.A.A.F. Airfield in the heart of Kent within  a Military encampment  of  WW11 Military personnel &  Military vehicles  including  U.S.O. mobile canteen serving hot fresh filtered coffee, toasted sandwiches including New York salami / pastrami , New York Cheese & Pickle, Cajun Chicken, Iowa Smoked Ham & Mustard, large selection of doughnuts, Wriggleys gum, Lucky Strike cigarettes, Hershey bars and military issue chocolate, A full WW11 bar is also available serving Ice cold American Budweiser beer and a selection of English real Ales, Kentucky Burbon, Jack Daniels, and Fentimans soft drinks and water.    

Special guest appearances including  Monty, General Patton, Douglas Bardon, Viv the Spiv, & others to be announced.  

U.S.O. Field concert & entertainment  begins at  3 pm through to 7.15 with a fantastic lineup including the fabulous Swingtime Sweethearts, Max Miller and Bud Flagan tribute act  the Dixieland jazz band and lots more including special guest appearance by the Woodchurch Morris men ,   and the awesome P-51 Fighter  Air Display at 5.30  pm.   

Watch this magnificent American fighter plane taxi out from the main hanger onto the runway then take off and disappear into the evening sky where it will menacingly return at full speed to leave us reeling and running for cover as it whistles past us just yards above our heads at speeds of up to 400  miles an hour,  then continues to keep us glued to it as it performs one of the most fearsome air displays to be seen in England, it will then land back at Station 419 and taxi back to the Main Hanger where we can reach out and touch it. Truly an experience not to be missed.  

Other fighter aircraft scheduled to appear are Luftwaffe ME-108  RAF Harvard and possibly more  

The main dance kicks off  in the Hanger at 7.30 and continues to Midnight, with the fabulous DJ's Memphis Gee and Texas Tommy, special guest appearance of vintage Burlesque by Kitten Von Mew, Vintage dance displays by The U.S.O. dance team  including Lindy Hop,Charleston, Balboa, Collegiate Shag, East & West Coast  Swing etc,  

PERIOD DRESS ONLY, Correct WW11 Allied Military uniform or 1940's Civilian , If you have a 1940's vehicle and would like to bring it along please get in touch or if you have a Military tent please bring it along and erect it in the encampment.
