PRESS RELEASE

Photographic Competition Extended
Due to various problems preventing WZ507 from attending any airshows during 2006, the Vampire Preservation Group has decided to extend the closing date of their annual photographic competition by 12 months – the closing date is now 30th September 2007.

The VPG's Chief Pilot, Matt Hampton, explains:

“We have had a very disappointing year with the Vampire, battling various issues that have prevented us from fulfilling our airshow commitments during 2006. Fortunately these problems have now been rectified and we hope to be a regular performer at airshows during 2007. I wish to apologise to everybody we have let down over the summer – WZ507's absence this year has been a huge blow, resulting in many people not seeing the Vampire display.

We have therefore decided it is only fair to extend the photographic competition, in order to give everybody a chance to submit their pictures of WZ507. Hopefully during 2007 we will be attending many airshows around the UK, so we look forward to seeing your pictures!”

As a prize, the photographer submitting best photo (as judged by an independent panel) will be given a flight in WZ507, the only airworthy de Havilland Vampire T11 in the world.

More information, including terms and conditions, can be found on the Competition section on our website: www.vampirepreservation.org.uk
