Swing in the Air 2007 Press Release

Saturday July 7th 2007
On Saturday July 7th at Thruxton Airfield near Andover the Museum of Army Flying Development Trust is presenting “Swing in the Air”, a sister show for the ever popular “Music in the Air” which is taking a break in 2007 for one year only.

The show will continue to feature live music with synchronised flying displays but Swing in the Air will have a 1940's theme with music from the Sid Lawrence Orchestra, world war two enactment groups, jitterbugging, an old fashioned fun fair, and plenty of entertainment along with trade and food stalls. Historic aircraft will be “parked up” for public display.

Aircraft taking part in the flying display include The Matadors, Aerostars, Lancaster, Spitfire, Hurricane, among others. The Red Devils parachute display will be performing and the show finishes spectacularly with The Red Arrows

The gates will open at 11.00am and the first part of the concert starts at 2.30pm. The show finishes around 6.00pm. Guests are invited to bring a picnic or take advantage of the many food stalls which will be represented on the day.

The Cockpit Enclosure will be available for any members of the public wishing to have extra facilities to sit down, eat, drink and enjoy themselves with a little more privacy.

Corporate guests wishing to entertain on the day may apply for a separate marquee with their own catering facilities to hand.

A website will be up in January and tickets go on sale mid February.
