Newark Air Museum - News Release
Open Cockpit Week 2007 at Newark Air Museum
Each day throughout the forthcoming half-term school holiday [Saturday 17th February to Sunday 25th February 2007 inclusive] Newark Air Museum is running an Open Cockpit Week at its site on the Winthorpe Showground. During the week visitors will have access to various aircraft & helicopter cockpits, with the aim of having different cockpits open at different times during each day.
With one eye on the weather some of the activities will be under cover in the Aircraft Display Halls, which house nearly two thirds of the museum’s collection of sixty nine (69) aircraft and cockpit sections. Each day different museum aircraft will be open and this could include: the Vulcan, Varsity, Shackleton, Phantom cockpit and Wessex helicopter. A small additional charge of 50p per person is made for access to each cockpit.
During the nine day period there is a special offer of one FREE children’s cockpit admission for one of the aircraft; to benefit for this offer each child must be accompanied by a paying adult. N.B. Access to the Vulcan cockpit is only suitable for children over the age of five.
