Cockpit Rigs: “cockpits in waiting” i.e. more than an instrument panels but not yet a cockpit: Seafire, Hornet F.1 *; and P.51

Special visitor - Auster V TJ398: A veteran of WWII. This is a complete aircraft, and is therefore over qualified to be a cockpit section, but never less a very welcome visitor to this event. This warbird, although a non-flyer, is a rare visitor to this area; take the opportunity to get up close to a rare type, make the most of it during this weekend.

Anyone wishing to attend with a cockpit is encouraged to contact the organiser Bill O’Sullivan via the contact form on the museum website.

Final details and booking forms for the AEROBOOT aviation and avionics sale have been despatched to previous ‘Aerobooters’. Anyone interested in receiving details should send a large SAE to the museum now.

The museum has also been notified of the provisional Battle of Britain Memorial Flight schedule for 2007, which indicates the event will attract flypasts on both days:

Cockpit-Fest Saturday June, 16 – Spitfire flypast

Cockpit-Fest Sunday June, 17 – Spitfire & Dakota flypasts

As further participants for both events become known details will be posted on the museum website www.newarkairmuseum.org

Additional visiting displays include: the Raptor Foundation, with birds of prey and Delta the official Cockpit-Fest mascot; Volunteers from the museum will endeavour to open a number of our aircraft for public visits throughout the weekend.

Special Notice It should be noted by visitors that as some of these cockpits travel many miles for the event, it must be expected that some will start to leave the site from 2pm. We therefore recommend early viewing to avoid disappointment.

Cockpit-Fest is supported by FlyPast, (The UK’s top selling Aviation Monthly). This unique event remains a joint venture between the Cockpit Owners, FlyPast and Newark Air Museum.
