NEWARK AIR MUSEUM - News Release
Monospar VH-UTH
Moved onto display
Following its recent return from the Cotswold Aircraft Restoration Group [CARG] at RAF Innsworth the General Aircraft Monospar ST.12 VH-UTH has now been put on display. This was completed in a series of co-ordinated moves on Tuesday October 16, 2007 when the airframe and wings were moved from the Newark Air Museum on-site workshop across to Display Hangar 1. The fuselage will remain here for the foreseeable future whilst the project is evaluated by the Restoration Manager.
At the present time it is anticipated that work on the fuselage framework could be carried out in Hangar 1, whilst work on recovering the wings will be carried out in the on-site workshop.
The move involved the careful repositioning the de Havilland Tiger Moth G-MAZY, Clutton Fred G-BJAD, Lee Richards Annular Biplane replica BAPC.20 and the Sud-Aviation SA.341 Gazelle XW276. During the coming months the museum trustees plan to open up this area of Display Hangar 1 to provide enhanced access to these airframes.
Work is now progressing well on evaluating the Monospar ST-12 project at the museum, but we would like to seek some additional help.
Does anyone know of the whereabouts of any Monospar drawings / plans that we might be able to view or copy?
Has anyone got any photographs of Monospar cockpits?
Responses can be submitted via the contact form on the museum website.
A long-shot we know but thanks in anticipation of some assistance!
