NEWARK AIR MUSEUM - News Release
Chipmunk progress at Newark Air Museum
Since its move out of long-term restoration in one of the on-site work trailers over a year ago there has been steady progress made on Newark Air Museum’s refurbishment of de Havilland Chipmunk T.10 WB624 [c/n C1/0065].
In recent weeks the main fuselage section has been moved into the Workshop and it has now started to receive its first coats of paint. Elsewhere on site work continues on the wings, with much progress having been made on refurbishing and recovering the control surfaces.
This aircraft is listed as Noteworthy on the National Aviation Heritage Register and the museum has received some excellent support from a variety of museums, aircraft restoration companies and individuals for this ongoing project.
