Cotswold Air Show - News Release

Early air show ticket sales are ‘fantastic’, say organisers

Cotswold Air Show organisers say they are delighted with the response during the first few days of ticket sales for this year’s two-day spectacular.

Tickets went on sale on Friday (March 5) and aviation fans have been logging onto the air show website to buy them.

The air show, which has changed its name from the Kemble Air Show, supports the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.

And among the star attractions at this year’s event, on June 19 and 20, will be the world-famous Red Arrows aerobatic display team, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and a giant C17 Globemaster aircraft, which will be on static display and open to the public.

Cotswold Airport operations manager and air show organiser Glen Moreman said: “Sales have got off to a fantastic start and, if the early signs are anything to go by, we are gearing up for a record year.

“Last year was the first time we have staged the air show over two days and, judging from the response we have had, it appears as though the new format is extremely popular.

“People always say that one of the things they like about the Cotswold Air Show is that, whilst it is one of the key dates on the air show calendar, it retains an intimate family atmosphere.

“We are very keen to maintain that, while at the same time improving the show year-on-year.”

The show will be taking the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain as its main theme and among the other display aircraft confirmed so far are Team Viper, with their Strikemaster Jet aircraft, the Yakovlevs display team, and Guy Westgate with the amazing Swift Glider Aerobatic Team.

Tickets for the event are priced at £19.50 for adults (£25 on the day), £5 for children aged six to 16, while under fives will be admitted free.

They are available through the air show website (www.cotswoldairshow.com) and from the following Touirist Information Centres

Tickets are also available from these Tourist Information Centres: Cheltenham, Chippenham, Cirencester, Corsham, Malmesbury, Stroud, Swindon, Tetbury, Warminster, Bath, Bourton-on-the-Water, Melksham, Trowbridge, Gloucester, Tewkesbury
