The More Bus Bournemouth Air Festival is shaping up to be bigger and better than 2008. With more aircraft, more on the ground attractions and more awesome ‘Night Air’ entertainment it promises to be a must-see 4-days of breath-taking aviation action!

Sponsored for a second year by More Bus, the Festival will bring a spectacular line-up of entertainment to hundresds of thousands of visitors from Thursday 20th – Sunday 23rd August.

For 2009 Bournemouth is the regions premier event for the Fly Navy 100 Naval celebrations. The resort will be receiving RFA Mounts Bay as well as the HMS Cattistock, Black Cats Helicopter Display Team (featuring Lynx helicopters), beach assaults, demonstrations from the Royal Marines Commando Display Team and music from The Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines who will ‘beat retreat’ in the award-winning Lower Gardens every evening.

History will be repeating itself when the internationally renowned and much anticipated Red Arrows return for an incredible three performances, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in addition the RAF will be displaying the Chinook and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight as well as the Hawk and awesome Eurofighter Typhoon.

Watch out for an incredible line-up of civilian aircraft including: the world’s only formation wing walking team - Team Guinot, locally-based world championship Russian designed aerobatic aircraft Yakovlevs Aerobatic Team, The Blades Aerobatic Display Team, The Matadors, Spitfire, Mustang and Sally-B.

On the ground, between the Piers there will be 1.5 miles of stalls, attractions and displays. Watch out for the Royal Navy Village as well as the RAF Village, which will feature a Eurofighter Typhoon cock-pit, Signals marquee and weapons engineering and performances by the RAF Dog Presentation Team; not forgetting the funfair, trading stands, refreshments, Veterans Tent and interactive Army ground displays.

The Festival is not just based upon visual acrobatics and feats of breathtaking sky-high aviation, the ‘Night Air’ entertainment line-up is sure to impress one and all!

’Night Air’ will include amongst other highlights: The Band of Her Majesty Royal Marines, a hot air balloon glow featuring up to 20 hot air balloons, which will be accompanied by a laser show on Friday and Saturday night; displays by the Royal Marines Combat Display Team, street entertainers and a fireworks display on Saturday night.
