ELITE BREITLING JET TEAM’S UK DEBUT AT BIGGIN HILL 2006
NEWS RELEASE ELITE BREITLING JET TEAM’S UK DEBUT AT BIGGIN HILL 2006 26th April 2006 ADI03/06
The Breitling Jet Team, the world’s only civilian aerobatic team flying jet aircraft, will be making their UK debut at the Biggin Hill International Air Fair, 3rd & 4th June. Trained and managed by their seasoned leader Jacques Bothelin, the Dijon-based team fly six sleek Czech-made L-39C Albatros trainers, similar in performance to aircraft used by today’s military teams. Team pilots are experienced professionals from the French Air Force or their national team La Patrouille de France.
Display time by the Breitling Jet Team runs for a dazzling 17 minutes of aerial showmanship. The aircraft are flown in a series of close formation manoeuvres, often only ten feet apart. The innovative shapes in the sky include crossovers and formation breaks. Colin Hitchins of organisers Air Displays International warmly welcomes the team’s participation at Biggin Hill. “The Breitling Jet Team, with their magnificent gold and blue liveried jets, demonstrate the very best in professional airmanship – performance, precision, innovation and aesthetic sophistication. Their presence will undoubtedly provide one of the highlights of this years show” he says. Special arrangements have been made with sponsors The History Channel and LBC News 1152 for a competition involving two lucky members of the public to have an opportunity to fly with the team.
