Airbourne Sponsorship Reaches New Heights

With nine key sponsors confirmed, the show has more than matched last year’s sponsorship thanks to funding from local companies which include the Eastbourne Arndale Centre, City Sightseeing, Eastbourne & District Chamber of Commerce, Eastbourne Herald, Eastbourne Hospitality Association, Red Eventful Cuisine, SITA, Specsavers and the South East England Development Agency.

Eastbourne Borough Council Spokesperson for Tourism, Councillor David Elkin said “Every year the show just gets bigger and better, now making us the biggest free seafront airshow in the world! With hotel bed spaces stretched to the maximum and a visitor spend of £20 million over the four days, it has become a significant driver within our economy.”

“However as the show expands, so do flying budgets, and it is through this year’s sponsorship assistance and through the sale of exhibition space, advertising and souvenir programmes at the event, that we are able to fund this superb event every year, now with a zero budget to the taxpayer.”

Radio Airbourne will be on air again this year thanks to Eastbourne Chamber of Commerce and the Sunset Ceremony will once again pay tribute to men and women throughout the armed forces with a concert and flypast, thanks to local tour bus company City Sightseeing.

Eastbourne Herald plan to spread the word throughout the Johnston Press newspaper group and waste contractor SITA, will be collecting all rubbish from the show, absolutely free!

Local children could also be flying high in an ‘Airbourne Art’ competition, with one lucky winner riding in a helicopter, and many more displaying their masterpieces at hotels and attractions from Eastbourne Hospitality Association, who will also be sponsoring the Eurofighter Typhoon for the first time.
