Airbourne 2006 Press Release

Airbourne 2006 Press Release

Friends of Airbourne' Newsletter – April 2006
Welcome to the latest 'Friends of Airbourne' Newsletter that is aimed to keep you up to date with the latest news and events. For those who have recently joined 'Friends of Airbourne', we hope you'll find this a useful source of information.

Sponsorship for Airbourne 2006

You may have heard on the radio or read in the local press that csma, the Airbourne sponsors, have withdrawn for 2006. Eastbourne Borough Council has enjoyed an excellent working relationship with csma and we were fortunate to have had them as sponsors for six years. This was a significant period for one sponsor to commit financial resources and their decision was 'understandable'. We have secured some new partners for the biggest free airshow in the South East and are in discussions concerning a sponsorship deal but wish to reassure you that Airbourne will continue and we're planning the 2006 event to be even better than last year's.

Airbourne Review – Eastbourne Borough Council

Further to the notification about this review that was sent to all 'Friends of Airbourne' in January, internal reviews of this nature are quite normal and the value of Airbourne to visitors, residents and businesses of Eastbourne is being assessed. Once the review is complete, all findings will be summarised in a report from the Scrutiny Committee and will be available on Eastbourne Borough Council's website www.eastbourne.gov.uk . The report will be published in early summer.

RAF Participation Committee

Following submission of our letters of request to the Royal Air Force Participation Committee, we have now heard that the Red Arrows are coming on Friday 18th at 16:30 and Sunday 20th August 2006 at 12:30. We will be advised about other flying displays later this month so watch this space. The RAF Recruitment service has confirmed that they will be on the Western Lawns along with the static displays. We have also approached European and American Embassies and look forward to hearing from them shortly.

Airbourne 2006

Just to remind you, if you haven't already made a note in your diary for this year's event, Airbourne returns from Thursday 17 – Sunday 20 August 2006.

Airbourne hospitality – Spitfire Club

Make Airbourne 2006 really special and take advantage of the Spitfire Club – Airbourne's best kept secret. With only 120 seats available in an exclusive marquee at the front of the bandstand, you can sit back, relax and enjoy Airbourne. The superb hospitality includes champagne on arrival, a delicious two course buffet lunch and a cream tea.
